BIDAR: The GND Engineering College here, which witnessed a clash between two groups of students recently over playing a religious song during the college cultural fest, has suspended 19 students till the completion of an internal inquiry.
The college authorities have set up an inquiry committe of five lecturers and the students will remain suspended till the completion of the inquiry. The administration took the step after the institution’s image took a hit following the clash.
On May 29, during the cultural festival, the song ‘Jai Sri Ram’ was played following which Muslim students attacked Hindu students on the college campus. The Gandhiganj police have registered a case in this connection and investigation is ongoing.
