The CISF jawan was killed after his weapon accidentally discharged a bullet.

RAICHUR: A Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan posted at the Kalpakam nuclear power station in Tamil Nadu, died after his weapon accidentally discharged, hitting him in the head at the Chennai airport on Monday. The deceased is Ravikiran (36), hailing from RG Camp in Manvi taluk.

The CISF jawan’s father lays a wreath on the coffin on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the mortal remains were taken in procession from Ambedkar Circle to RG Camp with villagers lining up the route. Police and CISF officers and also the villagers paid their last respect to the jawan. Manvi MLA Hampaiah Naik and former MLA Venkatappa Naik were among those to took part in the last rites.

Ravikiran is survived by his parents, wife and two daughters.
