YADGIR: A day after the government ordered a CID investigation into the PSI Parashuram’s mysterious death, a CID team, led by Deputy SP Puneeth, visited Yadgir on Sunday. The team visited the Yadgir City police station and gathered information related to the case.
The government had ordered a CID investigation into the case on Saturday and the team is expected to speed up the investigation.
Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the government has decided to provide a job and compensation to the family of the deceased PSI. He also said that the government will provide all necessary support to the family.
Speaking to the media, Parameshwara said that the opposition’s allegations against the ruling party MLA are baseless. “The CID team has started gathering evidence and is expected to submit a report soon. The team visited Yadgir to get more information. They also met with the family members of the deceased PSI”, he said.
“The opposition has alleged that the ruling party MLA was involved in the case. But the allegations are baseless, and the government will take necessary action against those who are spreading false information”, the Home Minister said.
“The team is gathering all evidence and is expected to reveal the truth behind the mysterious death of PSI Parashuram”, he added.
The Home minister, responding to a question on redistribution of portfolios in the state, said that the high command will take a decision on it. “A meeting of Congress leaders has been called for Sunday evening. The agenda of the meeting is not known. All ministers will participate. The Governor has issued a show-cause notice to the CM. The cabinet, led by DK Shivakumar, has passed a resolution and requested him to withdraw the show-cause notice. We have made an appeal in this regard. The high command, Surjewala, and KC Venugopal have been sent to discuss this. A discussion can be held on this”, he added.
