CHAMARAJANAGAR: Amid the crackdown on those possessing wildlife parts like tiger claws, the CID forest cell has arrested three people and seized two elephant tusks which was being smuggled in an SUV.

The CID forest cell officials arrested three people for smuggling the tusks.

Acting on specific information the CID forest cells officials intercepted the Hyundai Creta near PG Palya and arrested Shivamurthy, Shivakumar and Anthony, all hailing from Tamil Nadu.

The officials seized the tusks and the vehicle and a case was registered against the trio under different sections of the Wildlife Conservation Act.
