Chilume Trust founder detained by police in voter data theft case

BENGALURU: The city police on Sunday evening detained Ravikumar, the founder of the Chilume Trust in the voter data theft case.

The Halasur Gate police had already arrested four people — Renukaprasad, Dharmesh, Kempe Gowda and Aishwarya, and are questioning them.

On Sunday, the police had arrested Sanjeev Shetty, who had reportedly developed the Digital Sameeksha app.

Several teams of the police have conducted raids at several places and seized important documents. They are also going through who has benefitted from the NGO, the political leaders and BBMP officials involved.

The Chilume Trust is accused of deleting voter names in more than seven constituencies in the city and sharing them with MLAs and ministers.
