Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurates 9 new universities

BENGALURU: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated nine new universities at Jnana Jyothi auditorium on Tuesday.

The Chamarajanagar University, Hassan University, Mandya University, Bidar University, Kodagu University, Koppal University, Bagalkot University, Haveri University and  Raichur University were virtually inaugurated by the CM.

Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Large and Medium Scale industries Murugesh Nirani, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary A Manjunatha Prasad, Education Department Deputy Chief Secretary S R Umashankar were present.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai addressed the gathering after the inauguration of the nine new universities.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai addressed the gathering and said, “All the universities inaugurated on Tuesday are centers which will shape the future. Our government has given more emphasis on education and health. Education should be growing and this kind of university is the first in the country. Everyone should adopt Karnataka’s model in the coming days. The KIT was established so that our children can also get education on the lines of IITs. In the next five years, all institutes will be on the IIT model. Instead of looking for an IIT, we are creating an IIT here. Agreements are being made with top universities in the world.”

“Students are the future of our nation and the 21st century is the century of knowledge. Soon, India will become the world leader. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as a world leader. China also admired India’s control of Coronavirus. An educational institution means sanctity. Students should achieve their dreams”, he added.
