Chandrashekarnath Swami of Vishwa Vokkaliga Mahasansthan is no more

BENGALURU: Sri Chandrashekharnath Swami, the head of the Vishwa Vokkaligara Mahasansthan Math, passed away around midnight on Saturday due to age-related health issues. He had been unwell for several days. The revered spiritual leader’s mortal remains were kept at the math premises in Kengeri, Bengaluru, for devotees to pay their last respects.

Several dignitaries, including former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy, Opposition Leader R Ashoka, BJP state president B Y Vijayendra and other prominent leaders, visited the math to pay homage. Various heads of maths, such as those from Suttur and Adichunchanagiri maths, also paid their respects.

The final rites were performed according to Natha tradition at the math premises. The event drew large crowds of devotees, who were visibly emotional recalling the Swamiji’s contributions and life. The seer was known for his significant contributions to education and spirituality, and his demise has been condoled by various leaders.
