CCB police omit name of Om Prakash’s daughter in chargesheet

BENGALURU: The City Crime Branch (CCB), which investigated the murder case of former Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG&IGP) Om Prakash, has submitted a chargesheet before the court. Interestintly, the name of Om Prakash’s daughter has been omitted from the chargesheet.

After Om Prakash’s murder, a complaint was registered at the HSR Layout police station against his wife Pallavi and daughter. In the FIR, Pallavi was named as the first accused (A1) and the daughter as the second accused (A2).

During the investigation, it was found that the daughter had no role in Om Prakash’s murder. Therefore, her name has been dropped from the chargesheet, sources said.

The CCB has submitted a chargesheet of over 1,000 pages, stating that the motive behind the murder was a dispute over properties worth crores of rupees. Om Prakash’s son Karthikesh has obtained permission from the government to continue the investigation and has appointed a Special Public Prosecutor at his own expense.
