Case registered after distorted Tricolours waved at religious procession in Gangavathi

Distorted National Flags were waved during a religious procession in Koppal recently.

KOPPAL: The Tricolour, one with some Arabic script and another with some symbol, were waved during the Eid Milad procession at Gangavathi on September 28. The flags did not have the Ashoka Chakra in the middle.

While one flag had some Arabic script, another had some symbol in place of the Ashoka Chakra.

After videos of the the distorted Tricolour went viral on social media, the Gangavathi Town police have registered a case unidentified person for disrespecting the National Flag under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act and taken up further investigation.
