Case filed against duo for morphing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj image, uploading it online

Several youths gathered at the Yadgir police station after the morphed image of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was uploaded on social media.

YADGIR: The Yadgir Town police have registered a case against two people for allegedly morphing a image of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and hurting the sentiments of Hindus.

Arshan Sheik and Sheik Irfan have been booked under IPC Section 295(A) (deliberate and malicious acts, that are intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs).

The duo edited a picture of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj receiving a sword from Goddess Ambabhavani and replaced the image of the goddess with Mysuru ruler Tipu Sultan. They also uploaded the image on social media.

After the issue came to light, several Hindu activist gathered at the Yadgir Town police station on Monday evening and lodged a complaint for hurting Hindu sentiments.
