Cargo operator kidnapped from Nelamangala, found murdered near Tumakuru

BENGALURU: A man who had gone to eat snacks with his wife was kidnapped and murdered, and his body was dumped in Jayapura in Tumakuru district. The deceased has been identified as Dilip, a native of Solur, who was operating cargo business in Dobbspet and living in a rented house in Solur.

While living as a tenant, Dilip became acquainted with the house owner’s wife, Amruta and married her about five years ago. Due to this, he had earned the wrath of the first husband.

On Sunday, Dilip and Amruta had gone to Nelamangala to eat snacks when 5-6 miscreants attacked him with deadly weapons, kidnapped him, and later killed him. The accused then dumped his body in an open field in Jayapura of Tumakuru district and escaped.

According to police sources, preliminary investigations revealed that the accused murdered Dilip near Nelamangala and dumped the body near Jayapura at night. The police inspected the place and sent the body to the district mortuary. A case has been registered at the Tilak Park police station and a manhunt has been launched for the accused.

According to the Bengaluru Rural SP C K Baba, “Dilip and Amruta were both in a second marriage. They had come to Nelamangala for lunch yesterday when unknown persons attacked Dilip and kidnapped him. Later, they murdered Dilip and dumped his body near Tumakuru. It is suspected that the attackers are from Amruta first husband’s side. Further investigation is under way.
