Car rams into people buying fruits from roadside vendor, 5 injured

BAGALKOT: A speeding car rammed into a few people who were buying fruits by the roadside, leaving five of them injured. They are being treated at a local hospital. The condition of two of them is serious.

The incident occurred at Asangi Cross in Rabkavi-Banahatti taluk on the Jamakhandi-Kagwad state highway. Fruits kept on pushcarts lay scattered all around.

The injured were identified as Eshwar Atyappanavar of Kankanawadi village, his 5-year-old daughter Shiralika, Rukmavva, and Sadiq Mujawar and Mohsin Aursingh of Jamakhandi. The Banahatti police have registered a case.
