HASSAN: A car was found submerged in the Hemavati River’s left bank canal near Haralahalli village in Holenarsipur. It is suspected to have fallen into the canal on Saturday night. Locals informed the police, and firefighters, along with locals, managed to retrieve the vehicle.
Near the site where the car was found, two bodies, a man and a woman, were discovered in a lake in Dodda Kunchevu village. It is believed that two others, who were in the car, might have been swept away.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Holenarsipur city police station, and authorities have visited the site for investigation. The identities of the deceased have not been confirmed yet.
The car is reportedly owned by Premakumar, a 38-year-old resident of Konthagodanahalli village, who has been missing since August 17. A complaint has been filed at the Shantigrama police station. When the police tried calling Premakumar, his phone initially rang, but was later switched off.
