BENGALURU: Trouble seems to be brewing for the BJP in Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s home district with party workers from Byadagi staging a protest in front of the the party office in Malleswaram on Wednesday demanding that the incumbent Virupakshappa Rudrappa Ballary should not be considered for a ticket this time.

They later headed to former CM B S Yediyurappa’s residence.

The protesting BJP workers alleged that the MLA had ignored the cadre, does not listen to grievances and has not done any development work. “The party will lose the Byadagi seat if they decide to go with Virupakshappa Rudrappa Ballary. The party can give the ticket to anyone else, except him, if it wants to retain the seat”, they said.

They later headed to senior leader and former CM B S Yediyurappa’s house to discuss the issue with him. “We will return only after getting clarity on the issue”, they insisted.
