BENGALURU: Those looking to buy an apartment in the city would do well to verify the water connection. The state government has made it mandatory for all upcoming apartments in Bengaluru to have a Cauvery water connection before sale. This rule applies to both builders and landowners.
Dr Ram Prasath Manohar, chairman of the BWSSB, has cautioned that buyers should verify the Cauvery water connection before purchasing flats. He also cautioned that builders should not sell flats without disclosing this information. The Water Board will soon submit a proposal to the government to implement this new rule. Once implemented, builders and landowners who fail to comply will face penalties.
