HASSAN: A man died while his 16-year-old daughter sustained serious injuries after their car hit a roadside ditch and overturned into an arecanut farm near Koratagere village in Belur taluk on Monday morning. The deceased is Dayanad (46).
Hailing from Chikkamagalur, Dayanad was running a garment business on Belur and was residing in the town. On Sunday, he had gone to Chikkamagalur and was returning on Monday morning along with his daughter Nishmita to drop her off at school and also open his store.
While they were near Koratagere, Dayanad lost control of the car, which ploughed into an arecanut farm. While Dayanand died on the spot, Nishmika was shifted to the Crawford Hospital in Belur for treatment. The Belur police visited the spot and have registered a case.
