BENGALURU: A day after posters of the BJP, with pictures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, party national president J P Nadda, state president Nalin Kumar Kateel and other leaders sere found blackened in BTM Layout and other parts, the saffron party has lodged a complaint with the Madiwala police on Thursday.

Angered by this, Congress workers have lodged a counter-complaint and even staged a protest in front of the Madiwala police station. They even went around blackening more posters and argued with the police who tried to stop them. The Congress workers wanted the police to take action against the BJP for defacing the walls in the city.

Former mayor Manjunath Reddy also took BBMP officials to task for allowing posters and stencil graffiti to come up everywhere. The posters have come up on government buildings, temples and even private residences, he pointed out and and demanded to know why no FIR was filed.

Meanwhile, supporters of Congress MLA Ramalinga Reddy and BJP ticket aspirant Anil got into a wordy duel over the blackening of the posters during campaigning. Finally, the police had to intervene and break up the fight.
