BENGALURU: Police personnel and the bomb disposal squad arrived at Kalasipalya today after some locals complained that they found three abandoned boxes near an ATM, believing that some sort of explosives were in it.
The three empty boxes were found near the ATM of a private bank in Kalasipalya. On spotting the boxes, locals grew suspicious and informed the police. The police came to the spot as soon as they got information, and then called in the bomb disposal squad. There was suspicion that there had to be money or some kind of explosive.
The bomb disposal squad and the police conducted a thorough check and found the boxes to be empty. Later, when they checked CCTV footage from the surrounding places, it came to light that a beggar had brought the three boxes and left them at the spot.
The Kalasipalya police are investigating how the beggar got those boxes, which are used in ATMs to store cash.
