BMTC’s Divya Darshan tour package a big draw on launch day

The Divya Darshan service was launched by BMTC on Saturday.

BENGALURU: The Divya Darshan tour package announced by the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), which was launched on Saturday, received overwhelming response with more than 200 people signing up for the tour in three buses on the first day. The bookings for Sunday are also full, BMTC officials said.

As part of the Divya Darshan package, tourists are taken to eight major temples in and around Bengaluru including Gali Anjaneya Swamy temple, Rajarajeshwari temple, Shringagiri Shanmukha temple, Kurumariyamma temple, Omkar Hills, Iskcon, Art of Living and Banashankari temple.

The tours are conducted at weekends and on general holidays and depending on the response, it will be extended to weekdays also, officials said. The fare for adults is Rs 450 per head while it is Rs 350 for children. The tourists get direct entry to the temples and won’t have to wait in queues, they explained.

Many of the devotees expressed happiness with the service. “They have started this for the first time and we are enjoying it. The arrangements are also good. Special darshan is arranged, so it is convenient”, they told Public TV.
