BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has launched smart cards instead of bus passes for construction workers registered with the Labour Department or the Karnataka Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The Smart Cards will be issued at BengaluruOne centres, BMTC bus stations or at GramaOne, KarnatakaOne centres through the Seva Sindu portal. Aadhaar card and an identity card is required to get a smart card.
Smart card holders can travel up to a 45-km radius from the place of boarding mentioned in the pass. Registered construction workers can make use of this benefit.
