BENGALURU: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot after a BMTC bus knocked him down from behind near the Dasarahalli Metro station today.

The deceased, identified as Basappa, hailed from Andhra Pradesh and was working as a security guard at a private company. He was returning home to Bagalakunte when the accident occurred. The Peenya traffic police visited the spot. A case has been registered in this connection.

The motorcycle which the security guard was riding hit a car in front of it due to the impact of the bus ramming it from behind.

In another case, a woman, who was riding pillion with her husband, was killed after their two-wheeler skidded upon hitting a stone and a school bus ran over her head.

The deceased was identified as Sumangala (58) while her husband Sharanappa survived with minor injuries. The two were riding on a scooter when it hit a stone and both fell on the road in Chikkagollarahatti on Magadi Road. A private school bus coming from behind ran over her head, killing her on the spot.

The woman, who was riding pillion was killed on the spot after a school bus ran over her head.

The school bus driver, however, escaped from the spot. It is said that he was speeding on the road which is riddled with potholes and witnesses frequent accidents. The Madanayakanahalli police visited the spot and have registered a case.
