“The incident happened at 9.50 am and my son-in-law informed me about it. Around 10 am, I got the news that they were seriously injured. Around 11 am, I got the news that they had passed away. It happened due to the negligence of BMRCL as they did not take any safety measures. The officials should be suspended or blacklisted from work. I thank Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who said that the officials concerned should be suspended. I want them to make it a non-bailable offence, and their licence should be cancelled”, said Madan Kumar, the father of Tejaswini.

“I want justice, and I do not want compensation. I want the contractor to be put on the blacklist, and I want them to stop doing poor construction work. I do not want money, I want their lives back. I will pay Rs 50 lakhs; can they give back the lives of my daughter and grandson? I request that CM Bommai and others take the necessary steps to ensure that no one else suffers like us”, he added.
