KALABURAGI: A BJP worker committed suicide by hanging after blaming Medical Education Minister Dr Sharanaprakash R Patil for his death, at Shirolli village in Chincholi taluk.
In a series of audio messages, Shivakumar, the BJP worker, alleged harassment from Congress workers and said the ‘minister is directly responsible for this’. It is said that some Congress workers had assaulted him on the farm belonging to his relative Narasappa.
In the audio messages, Shivakumar can be heard saying that they (Congress) get angry if anyone speaks about Hindu dharma and adds that he will die a proud Hindu. “Congress workers and minister Sharanaprakash Patil are responsible for my death”, he said.
The Sulepeth police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
