BJP holds protest against Congress govt for ‘not fulfilling’ poll guarantees

BENGALURU: The BJP on Tuesday staged a protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru on Tuesday alleging that the Congress government in the state is not delivering on its five poll guarantees and to oppose Animal Husbandry Minister K Venkatesh’s remark on slaughter of cows.

The BJP leaders and activists, who had brought cows and oxen to the venue, began their protest by conducting gau puja. They also criticised the government over the reported move to cut milk procurement price and the increase in power tariff due to a rise in fuel adjustment cost.

BJP leaders Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, N Ravikumar, Bhaskar Rao and other addressed the protesters.

Three district units of the BJP in Bengaluru Urban district participated in the protest. They were led by Bengaluru Central MP P C Mohan MLA Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, MLC N Ravikumar, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, Keshav Prasad, Gopinath Reddy, Bengaluru central district BJP president Manjunath, North district president Narayan, defeated candidates Bhaskar Rao, Saptagiri Gowda, Umesh Shetty and others.
