BJP executive committee meets to discuss strategies for Lok Sabha polls

BELAGAVI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is making all efforts into bounce back after the Assembly election defeat in the district.

An important executive committee meeting was held on Saturday in a private hotel in the district. The BJP has drawn up a strategy for the party to win the Lok Sabha election, after the drubbing in the Assembly election.

Former and sitting MLAs of the BJP, including eight MLA from the constituencies in Belagavi Rural, Ramesh Jarkiholi, participated in the meeting. The BJP had won three constituencies out of a total of eight in the Assembly elections in Gokak, Arabhavi, and Khanapur and lost in Bailahongala, Ramadurg, Kittur, Savadatti and Belagavi Rural.

Rural BJP president Sanjay Patil presided over the meeting. BJP vice president Nirmal Kumar Surana, MP Mangala Angadi, Rajya Sabha member Eranna Kadadi and sitting and former MLAs participated in the meeting.

The leaders of the BJP reviewed the cause of their defeat in the Assembly elections, strategies for the upcoming elections, among other issues.
