Biker run over by truck after falling on road, body cleaved in half

TUMAKURU: In a horrific accident, a motorcycle rider was run over by a truck, leaving his body cleaved in two, on NH-48 near Country Club in Sira taluk on Thursday morning. The deceased was identified as R Harish (21).

According to the police, Harish lost balance and fell on the road when a truck coming from behind ran over him. Harish was returning to Bengaluru after visiting the Lakshmi Narasimha temple in Chitradurga.

Harish had recently bought an expensive BMW motorcycle and was returning from a temple in Chitradurga.

Harish, a resident of Dommarahalli in Bengaluru had recently purchased a BMW motorcycle costing about Rs 4-5 lakh. A case has been registered at the Kallambella police station.

In another incident, the body of an unidentified person was found near the Jogihalli bridge on NH-48 in Sira taluk. The deceased is about 45 years old and has a tattoo on his right hand which says ‘Mahantesh’ and ‘Mallappa’. The Kallambella police have registered a case.
