Bengaluru records first three dengue deaths in three zones after three years

BENGALURU: The  Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is on high alert as the number of dengue cases in the city has shot up. Three people have died of dengue in the city after three years.

The number of dengue cases in Bengaluru is steadily increasing, causing concern among the public. About 5,000 dengue cases have been registered since January and there have been three deaths reported, one each in three zones in the last two months, including South, East and Bommanahalli zones.

The victims were aged between 30 and 50. Of the three deceased, two had comorbidities. After three deaths, the BBMP is now taking steps to control dengue.
