Bengalureans welcome New Year 2025 with grand fervour

BENGALURU: Bengalureans welcomed the New Year 2025 with a grand celebration across the city. Several major roads had been transformed with dazzling lights. Like every year, the MG Road-Brigade Road junction, Koramangala, Indira Nagar, JP Nagar and Whitefield were jam-packed with lakhs of people.

 

People came with their families, friends and partners and enjoyed the moment, dancing to DJ songs. Some people celebrated New Year in pubs and restaurants. People enjoyed the moments by taking selfies, photos and videos. The Bengaluru Police had implemented extensive security measures across several key areas in the city where large crowds were expected to gather for New Year celebrations.

As a precautionary measure, the city police had banned traffic movement on all the major flyovers in the city from 8 pm on Tuesday till early on Wednesday morning. The police department allowed people to celebrate New Year till 1 am on Wednesday. Colorful fireworks were part of welcoming the New Year.

The BBMP, in coordination with the city police, has taken steps to attend to any medical emergencies apart from keeping the city clean. Apart from this, a woman slapped a man who had behaved inappropriately with her in a crowd. The incident was reported in Koramangala.
