BENGALURU: The Bangalore Development Authority has always been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Things have come to such a passe that the BDA chairman and Yelahanka MLA S R Vishwanath had to give the officials a dressing down and given them a warning.

“Do you think you people are greater than the BDA situation? The officials are not keeping with my pace”, he thundered.

“After I became chairman, sites were distributed through lottery system based on seniority. Even after a year of distributing sites, the BDA officials are yet to give possession certificates to the allottees”, he said.

One of the site allottees said, “The woes of Arkavathy Layout never seem to end. When Vishwanath became BDA chairman, 300 sites were allotted randomly to applicants. This August, it will be one year since the sites were distributed but we are yet to get possession certificates.”

Referring to the case of one individual who was allotted a site in 2007, was made to run from pillar to post and only last August, he got the possession certificate, the allottee said.
