BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officers and staff association has planned to launch a protest against the government over lack of appointments to vacant posts among other demands.

The association held a preparatory meeting at the BBMP headquarters today to discuss the date and contours of their protest. According to the association, officers in the grade of commissioner and revenue officials have been given promotions but not allotted postings. This has resulted in junior officers not being promoted.

The association also claimed that appointments are not being made properly and there are 6,414 vacant posts. Due to this, there is increased pressure on the staff and there is no proper administrative system in place, the association said.
