BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) is introducing the ‘e-property’ software, an online property record management system in the fiscal year 2023-24 to bring in transparency, prevent fake documentation, stop illegal transactions, corruption, and cut the unwanted menace of commission agents and delay in the process. The software can be used for property sale, inheritance, partition, Will, land acquisition, and khata amalgamation or bifurcation.

The BBMP has already introduced the e-property (e-aasti) software in the East zones and plans to extend it to the core areas of the South and West Zones in the coming days. It will be adopted in all account related activities in the entire BBMP limits in coming days.

Deepak Jain, BBMP Special Commissioner, briefing the e-property system, said that earlier, there were 42 points for verification. “We have simplified the process by eliminating some overlapping points. The BBMP is making all preparations to launch it in the core areas of the South and West zones. We have conducted a verification of government or commercial properties by using drones on Ballari road as pilot project. But it captures only perimeter, BBMP officers have to conduct physical verification again. Due to this, the process gets delayed sometimes. We will discuss it with the BBMP chief commissioner and senior officers about how to expand the e-property software in other fields”.
