Principal Sharanappa is due to retire this month-end.

The principal has been accused of inappropriate touch, deliberately shaking hands for long among other acts. In her complaint with the police, the woman guest lecturer said that Sharanappa claimed to be “young and energetic” even at the age of 60 and wanted to come to her house when her husband was not around. He also asked her to “cooperate” with him, the complaint said.

The woman had earlier complained to the Veerashaiva Sangha leaders, but to no avail. She then approached the police, who have now registered an FIR.

In another instance, a guest lecturer for the MBA course at the Gulbarga University has been accused of seeking sexual favours from a student. An audio recording running into a 23.49 minutes, wherein the student can be heard repeatedly rejecting his advances, has since gone viral.

The guest lecturer can be heard pestering the student to be his girlfriend while she repeatedly keeps saying, “No sir, no sir. I’ve never seen you as anything else but a teacher”. The guest lecturer allegedly called the student at night and invites her to his room. He also asks the student to have phone sex, but she repeatedly refuses his advances and keeps insisting that she only sees him as a lecturer.

It was not immediately known whether the police had filed a case in this regard.
