BENGALURU: Autorickshaw drivers’ unions in the city are demanding a revision in fares and have written a letter to Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy in this regard.

The unions pointed out that auto drivers are not plying at the presently fixed fares and suggested that the fares be increased to resolve the issue.

The unions also noted that the fares have been revised only twice in the last ten years and demanded that it should be revised every year.

Referring to a central government suggestion to amend the Act, the unions said that the fare should be revised every year instead of periodically.
