TUMAKURU: An autorickshaw driver has returned gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh to a passenger who had forgotten them in the vehicle. The gesture has earned praise for the auto driver’s honesty.
The passenger, Gayatri, had gone to Kunduru village to attend a function. Following that, she and two others took an auto to the bus stand. In a hurry to get off, she forgot her bag containing gold ornaments worth Rs 4 lakh.
The auto driver, Ravi Kumar, noticed the bag and searched for the owner. Meanwhile, Gayatri had also been searching for the auto. When they couldn’t find each other, Gayatri went to the police station to file a complaint.
Just then, Ravi Kumar arrived at the police station with the bag, looking for Gayatri. The police verified the identity of the owner and returned the bag to Gayatri. She was relieved to recover her lost ornaments, which weighed 52 grams.
The police appreciated Ravi Kumar for his honesty and integrity. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Tumakuru city police station.
