HASSAN: The police have arrested an autorickshaw driver for allegedly harassing a minor schoolgirl and asking her to have a romantic relationship with him in Belur town.
Manu (27) would allegedly follow the girl in his autorickshaw and mentally harass her, asking her to love him. When she refused, he would abuse her with foul language and even touch her inappropriately on the street.
The minor girl, who was being constantly harassed, finally broke down and told her parents about the incident. They lodged a complaint with the police, leading to Manu’s arrest. The Belur police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and sent Manu to jail.
