BENGALURU: An autorickshaw driver was allegedly assaulted by a group of four to five autorickshaw drivers for picking up a passenger in another area.

The accused auto drivers chased the auto and stopped it near Nagasandra Metro station. They questioned the driver about his area and why he picked up a passenger from their area. They also allegedly threatened him of life. The passenger got out of the autorickshaw after witnessing the scuffle among the autorickshaw drivers.

The scene of assault and threat was caught on camera in a car that was tailing the autorickshaw.

A netizen, Shubham, uploaded the video of drivers’ scuffle on X and tagged the Bengaluru police, asking, “Why should auto drivers not pick up passengers in other areas? Is there any such rule for autos?”

The police are now gathering information about the incident based on the video.
