DAVANAGERE: At least 19 children fell ill after eating panipuri near the Jamia Masjid at Malebennur in Harihar taluk and were admitted to a hospital.
The children started vomiting after eating panipuri, which was sold right in front of the mosque after the end of their Ramzan fasting on Thursday. The parents immediately admitted the children to the local government hospital.
Of the 19 children, the condition of four children is said to be serious. They were shifted to the intensive care unit of a private hospital in Davanagere on Friday. Harihar Tahsildar Gurubasavaraj visited the spot and conducted an inquiry.
