Another woman accuses arrested Madhugiri Deputy SP of sexual assault

TUMAKURU: Close on the heels of the arrest of Madhugiri Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramachandrappa for de sexually assaulting a woman in his office toilet, another woman has lodged a complaint with the Madhugiri police against the officer following which an FIR has been registered.

The victim, who hails from Madhugiri, works at a garment unit in Bengaluru. In her complaint, she noted that she had been cheated of money by an individual who had promised to get her a site. She had then approached the women’s commission which directed Deputy SP Ramachandrappa to investigate the case.

The victim said that on the pretext of recording her statement, Ramachandrappa called her to his office and sexually assaulted her in the toilet. When she started crying, he gave her Rs 500 and told her not to reveal about the incident to anyone, the complaint stated.

The incident is said to have occurred on August 5 and the victim has come forward to register a complaint only now. Ramachandrappa was arrested last week and suspended after a video, which allegedly showed him sexually assaulting a woman who approached him with a complaint, went viral on social media. The Deputy SP’s act was recorded by a person from outside the toilet window.
