TUMAKURU: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday held a roadshow in Gubbi and Tiptur as part of the BJP’s mass outreach campaign ahead of the state Assembly polls on May 10.

As soon as he got on to the campaign vehicle, Shah threw flowers towards the BJP supporters. “The BJP government removed the Muslim OBC quota as it was unconstitutional and distributed it to Vokkaligas and Lingayats. The government also increased reservation for SCs and STs. If the Congress returns to power, they say they will undo the reservation to bring back Muslims under OBC quota. Are you agreeable with that?” he asked the voters.

He also stressed that the double engine government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, should be brought back to power and sought the voters to elect Dilip Kumar from Gubbi. “If our government comes back to power, we will fix minimum support price for arecanut. We have already curbed illegal import of areca. The double engine government will be beneficial for farmers”, he added.

Shah also held a roadshow in Tiptur and campaigned for party candidate B C Nagesh in which thousands of party supporters participated.
