AIMIM state chief, sons, nephews attack 2 youths who made corruption charges

AIMIM Karnataka president Usmangani Humnabad, his sons and nephews assaulting two youths in Ilkal.

BAGALKOT: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) state president Usmangani Ibrahimsab Humnabad and his nine sons and nephews assaulted two youths with rods and bricks for raising questions about alleged fund misappropriation at the Syed Murtaza Qadri dargah in Ilkal, of which Usmangani is also the president.

A few youths had alleged that crores of Usmangani had uses crores of rupees of the dargah funds for his personal use. They had even made allegations against against him in the media.

Locals intervened to put a stop to the assault.

Angered by this, Usmangani and his sons locked up the shop belonging to the youths at the Anjuman Complex. When they were recording a video of this, Usmangani and his sons carried out a deadly assault on them with rods and bricks in full public view. However, locals intervened and dispersed the crowd.

Mohammed Rafiq Nadaf, Shamid Reshmi and Zubair Punekar had previously alleged that Usmangani had misused the funds of the dargah committee and the Anjuman committee. The Wakf Board audit report also mentions this, they said and had demanded action against Usmangani. This had caused much embarassment to him.

The two youths were shifted to hospital for treatment.

Usmangani, his sons and nephews went to Mohammed Rafiq’s shop in the Anjuman Complex to lock it and demanded that he vacate the place. When Rafiq was recording a video of the incident, Usmangani, his sons and nephews attacked Rafiq and Shamid Reshmi.

While Shamid suffered serious injuries in the ear, Rafiq was hit in the stomach and back. “Usmangani’s sons Adil, Faisal, Sohail, Shoaib, Shahbaz and Shoaib Bhagwan assaulted us. No complaint has been registered yet and we will go by whatever the community elders suggest”, they said.
