MANDYA: Fake images of leopards, tigers and cheetahs near tourist places around Srirangapatna, created using artificial intelligence (AI), have spread panic among people.
The images, which show leopards, tigers and cheetahs roaming freely near Gumbaz in Srirangapatna, have gone viral on social media, causing widespread panic among people.
However, fact-checking revealed that these images are fake and were created using technology to frighten innocent people. Mischievous individuals are taking advantage of technology to spread fear and anxiety among the public.
“I go for morning walks every day and our farmland is also close by. Since Thursday, images of two leopards near Gumbaz are being widely circulated on Facebook and other social media platforms. We don’t know whether this is true or not, but the authorities should clarify”, said Shivaprasad, a local resident.
