GADAG: ‘Rocking Star’ Yash arrived at Surangi village in Lakshmeshwar taluk of Gadag district on Monday evening, where three men were electrocuted in the wee hours. He took a special flight from Maharashtra and landed in Hubballi and then travelled by road.

Yast met the bereaved family members and consoled them by holding their hands and filled them with courage to cope with the loss. he lent a ear to the bereaved families and assured that he would help them in any possible way.

Three men were electrocuted in the wee hours of Monday when they were erecting a cutout to wish the actor on his birthday. The 25-foot-tall cutout came in contact with the overhead power lines, and the youths holding the cutout were electrocuted within no time. Three youths died on the spot while three others sustained serious injuries.

The deceased are Hanamanta Harijan (21), Murali Naduvinamani (20) and Naveen Gazi (19). Three others — Manjunath, Prakash and Hanumantha — were seriously injured. They were rushed to a private hospital in Lakshmeshwar and later shifted to GIMS.

The incident occurred in the jurisdiction of Lakshmeshwar police station. Actor Yash is celebrating his birthday today and his fans at Ambedkar Nagar in the village planned to install a huge cutout.

After this painful incident, Yash requested his fans not to erect his cutouts anywhere to convey wishes to him henceforth. “Such incidents should not be repeated. I am always grateful for your love. I am very saddened by this incident. I have made my life out of my work and the love of my fans. The wishes of my fans are enough, these things are not needed. How can the bereaved families get back their adult children? Let there be love, admiration, but do not show your love in this way. Sometimes I am scared of such incidents, and I feel disgusted. I will be happy if my fans fashion their own lives in a positive manner”.

“I have stopped celebrating my birthday from the Covid times because I do not want to trouble others. If I say no to the celebration, fans will feel upset, but that’s ok. Anyone can help the bereaved families with money, and I can promise them anything at this moment, but they will not get their sons back. I have grown with the blessings of my fans, and that is enough. In the same way, if they grow up and build their own lives, I feel that is a true blessing. I have decided not to celebrate my birthday after this incident because I am scared to  celebrate”, Yash added.
