BENGALURU: Sandalwood actor Vijay Raghavendra’s wife Spandana, who was on a visit to Bangkok, died on Tuesday morning after suffering a heart attack.
Spandana had gone to Bangkok on work four days ago. It is said that her blood pressure dropped and she suffered a heart attack. It is said that she complained of chest pain on Sunday evening.
She is the daughter of retired police officer B K Shivaram and had married Vijay Raghavendra in 2007 after they fell in love. The couple has a son.
The family is headling to Bangkok today and it is expected that the mortal remains of Spandana will be brought back to Bengaluru on Tuesday. Tragedy has struck the family even as it was yet to come out of the loss of Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar.
Actor Srimurali, who is Spandana’s brother-in-law, said she did not wake up from her sleep. Spandana had gone to Bangkok along with some friends family members and was to return on Wednesday after wrapping up a shoot. Vijay Raghavendra himself was busy shooting for a movie here.
On Monday afternoon, Vijay Raghavendra left for Bangkok and it is expected that Spandana’s body will be brought back to Bengaluru by Tuesday afternoon. If necessary, an air ambulance will be arranged.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D K Shivakumar, senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa, former CMs Basavaraj Bommai and H D Kumaraswamy, actor-MP Sumalatha Ambareesh and a host of political leaders and celebrities mourned the sudden and shocking death of Spandana. Several netizens too paid their tributes online.
