Actor-director Nitin Gopi dies after cardiac arrest

BENGALURU: Nithin Gopi (39), who acted in many movies as a child artist and recently directed many serials, passed away due to cardiac arrest on Friday.

He appeared as a child artist in many movies, including ‘Hello Daddy’, acted with late actor ‘Sahasa Simha’ Vishnuvardhan. He had stolen the hearts of numerous fans especially with the song ‘Shalege Ee Dina Raja’.

Nitin Gopi lived in an apartment in Ittamadu in Bengaluru. He had a severe heart attack at 4 am on Friday and his family immediately tried to admit him to the hospital. Sources said that he breathed his last on the way to the hospital.

He acted as a child artist in many films including ‘Chirabandhavya’, ‘Nishabda’, ‘Keralida Kesari’. He also worked as a director for serials under Shruti Naidu’s production and under Balaji Telefilms. He has directed not only in Kannada, but also Tamil serials.

Nitin, who was only 39, is said to have been be preparing to direct a new serial. He is the son of the well-known flautist Gopi. Several television artists and technicians have condoled the actor’s demise. His death had left his fans and the industry in shock.
