BENGALURU: Sandalwood ‘Challenging Star’ Darshan was detained this morning by the Kamakshipalaya police, from a Radisson Blu Hotel in connection with the murder case of Renukaswamy of Kamakshipalya.
The police arrested Darshan as he was in constant contact with the murder accused and brought him to Bengaluru. Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, was murdered on Sunday.
The accused in the murder case, admitted that Darshan was involved in the case and alleged that they killed him on the instructions of Darshan. Kamakshipalya police have arrested more than ten accused, including Darshan. The police are likely produce Darshan before the court by evening and the medical test was conducted at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospitals.
Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga, was allegedly murdered for posting obscene texts about Pavitra Gowda on social media. In a related development, the Annapurneshwari Nagar police have also detained Pavitra Gowda.
Briefing about the murder case, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda case, said, “We have secured Darshan and he is being questioned at the AP Nagar police station. The actor was arrested based on the evidence of his close aides. More than 10 people have been arrested in this case. The investigation is under way, and more details are awaited”.
Darshan said, “It’s true that I told them to just threaten him, not to kill him”. At first, the accused called Renukaswamy to threaten him, but he died of assault. This matter was informed to Darshan from there itself, and then the accused escaped after throwing the body into a rajakaluve in Kamakshipalya.
