BIDAR: A lamp lit in the puja room of a house caused a major fire, burning down household articles, including food items, at Ekloor Wadi village in Basavakalyan taluk.
The fire broke out in the house of Baburao Chintale when no one was at home. The villagers had a tough time dousing the fire. Household articles, cash, documents and food items including rice, jowar and wheat were destroyed in the fire.
The Mudabi police visited the spot and registered a case in this connection.
