BENGALURU: The mastermind of the country most high-profile honeytrap case of Madhya Pradesh has now been arrested by the Bengaluru police for theft.

Aarti Dayal, who was the mastermind of the honeytrap gang, was jailed in 2019 and had come out on bail in 2020. Ever since, she had gone incommunicado. Only recently, the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court had questioned whether she was even alive.

Aarti Dayal used various names like Sonu, Samantha and Arati Agarwal. She was arrested by the Mahadevapura police from Vijayawada in connection with a theft case.

Aarti Dayal committed thefts in Bengaluru, Chennai and other cities. She would plan meticulously for a fortnight and join work at spas. After working there for about 10 days, she would befriend other women co-workers and start living with them in their rooms or paying guest accommodations. She would then steal cash and gold and flee from that place.

Since a case has been registered against her at Indor in Madhya Pradesh, the Mahadevapura police have informed them about her arrest.
