BENGALURU: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday released its second list of 60 candidates. The party had earlier announced 80 candidates in its first list and has so far announced 140 candidates for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly election.

Among the candidates in the second list are 14 farmers, 11 women, 18 lawyers, six doctors, 23 engineers, four IT professionals, five doctorate degree holders, 29 post-graduates and six MBA graduates. Among them, 25 candidates are facing elections for the first time.

Speaking on the occasion, AAP state convener Prithvi Reddy said, “Though we are contesting elections from the first time in Karnataka, we have made excellent preparations. Other parties offer inducements to voters, but we are not doing any such thing. The average age of our candidates announced in the first list is 45 years and similarly so in the second list. Not just the we educated, we are giving opportunities to people like a former BMTC bus conductor, because the common people can understand problems better”.

He added that the people of the state are tired of the three major parties and expressed confidence that they will vote for change.
