BENGALURU: A team of senior officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) visited Karnataka to inspect potential sites for Bengaluru’s second airport.

They are reviewing three locations proposed by the state government. Tuesday’s schedule includes visits to two sites on Kanakapura Road and one on Nelamangala-Kunigal Road.

This effort aims to alleviate congestion at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Devanahalli, with the state government planning to build a new airport by 2034.

Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) managing director Khushboo Goel Chowdhary presented detailed information about the three potential sites to the central team.
