75 pc attendance to be mandatory for writing SSLC, PUC exams this year

BENGALURU: With the countdown for the SSLC and PUC examinations having begun, the Karnataka Examinations Authority has decided not to give any leeway in the minimum attendance requirement.

As per the KEA, 75 per cent attendance will be compulsory and the Department of School Education and Literacy is alredy collecting reports from schools. If students fall short of attendance, they will not be able to write the exams.

There will be no exemption on attendance requirement except on medical grounds or special situations. The Department of School Education and Literacy is already seeking reports from all state syllabus government, private and aided schools on student attendance.

The Department of School Education and Literacy plans to curb cheating in attendance and wherever attendance shortage is found, it will look into the reasons and plans to set right the issues in the upcoming academic year.
